Description

An elegant solid silver coffee pot of baluster-pear shape, resting on three scrolled cabriole legs. The generously curved body features a design alternating between twisted fluting and broad polished panels, creating a subtle play of light across the silver surface.

The upper section is adorned with rich Rococo-style ornamentation—finely chased acanthus leaves, scrolls, and shells—extending around the neck and the handle attachment. The hinged lid harmoniously follows the lines of the body and is topped with a stylized flame-shaped finial, while the delicately shaped spout ensures elegant functionality.

The detachable side handle, made of blackened turned wood and mounted on a silver socket, is designed to provide heat insulation while offering an aesthetic contrast to the gleam of the precious metal.

The piece is housed in its original case, covered in black fabric and lined with red velvet; the lid bears the silversmith's gilt inscription—"L. Béguin – L. Lapar, Orfèvre, 25 rue de Chabrol, Paris"—attesting to its provenance and authenticity.
