CHRISTIAN FJERDINGSTAD (1891-1968)

Christian Fjerdingstad is an extraordinary goldsmith, of Danish origin and French at heart. His artistic work is distinctly marked by these two influences. He knew how to create an art mixing finesse and modernity, thus renewing the stylistic language of goldsmithing.

Christian Fjerdingstad undoubtedly represents the link between Puiforcat and Jensen through the characteristics of his work. Inspired by mechanical parts in form or detail, he would temper this modernity with touches of poetry. Thus, he used mineral or synthetic materials in ornamental elements, such as amber, ivory or horn which referred to the nature he admired so much.
